Pridwin School Tues Aug 3rd

Today we were on duty here http://www.pridwin.co.za/ at Pridwin Preparatory School in the Melrose area of Johannesburg. If you don't want to click on the link and browse the school site for yourself, their opening quote is . . . "Pridwin was founded in 1923 and is an independent, non-denominational school rooted in Christian ethics and values. Pridwin is a boys' school offering a positive learning experience from Grade 0 to Grade 7. At Pridwin we strive to unlock the unique and multifaceted potential of each boy so that he is able to make a worthwhile contribution to society."
His future is our future!

Looking towards the main building, car park and front entrance.
There are 350 boys here (I think) and the facilities they had were extremely good, as you can probably notice.

The Sports field - today! And this is winter!
Good facilities possibly not surprising at a starting rate of
45,000 Rand per year [approx £4,000]
Where's my Parasol?
Small class sizes, enthusiastic, motivated teachers, lots of space.

From outside the performance block where we were - there's the shelter on the left from the photo above.
Lunch was in the single storey building on the left.

Cricket Practice anyone?

The Performance/Music block where we were on duty . . .

There's my helpful steward(ess) Rosemary sitting on the edge enjoying the sunshine before we start the afternoon session.

. . . and the main performance space inside the block - nice huh?

Everyone very helpful and enthusiastic as usual - they had just one candidate from here last year, and 14 today with some additional candidates coming in from outside, so they'll just keep growing
(and many other places are doing similar)
